Alex

Alex was born and raised in Nicosia, Cyprus. After fulfilling his military duties with the Cyprus National Guard where he excelled as a Corporal of the Special Forces, he made the leap to the other side of the Atlantic where he earned his Bachelor degree in Filmmaking and a minor in Animation with Magna Cum Laude at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Alex is now an Established Director, Cinematographer and Editor, and has worked from Featured films with Emmy award winning actors, to award winning documentaries and TV shows. His work has been featured on TV, various festivals and his latest music video has made an exclusive debut in The Huffington Post. He now works with various Media platforms, TV and Film for both Greek and American productions, and as a part-time sound engineer for Cosmos Fm

Panagiota Andreopoulou

Dr. Panagiota (Penny) Andreopoulou is an Attending Endocrinologist in the Department of Medicine at Hospital for Special Surgery and Assistant Professor of Medicine int he Division of Endocrinology at the Weill Cornell Medical College. She was previously a member of the faculty in the Division of Endocrinology/Department of Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. Her clinical and academic interests include osteoporosis, calcium, and phosphate metabolism and metabolic bone disorders. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrynology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. She is also a Certified Clinical Densitometrist. She received the Endocrine Society Award in 2010 for her oral presentation on tumor – induced osteomalasia. She is a member of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research, Endocrine Society, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Women’s Association, and the Hellenic Medical Society of New York. She has also reviewed scientific papers for Endocrine Practice. Dr. Andreopoulou is fluent in English, French, and Greek. She is the co-producer/host of the medical program “Ygeia kai Zoi” on Cosmos FM 91.5.

Anna E. Eliopoulos

Anna-Iliopoulos

Anna E. Eliopoulos was born in New York City, but has constantly been moving, causing her to grow up in various different places around the world. Despite that fact, she has kept strong bonds with the Greek community. She graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music in Boston, with a double major in Vocal Performance and Music Production & Engineering. She has been living in NYC since 2009 and has been working in various recording studios. She is proud to be a part of the Cosmos FM family as the new sound engineer.​

Dimitris Filios

Dimitris-Filios

A journalist and public relations consultant, Demetris was born and raised in Athens and came to New York as a graduate student. He is also co-founder of Prom-Com Images; a radio correpondent for ERT, and a writer at the Hellenic Times. Demetris also loves the arts, swimming and playing tennis.

Yianni Georgas

Yianni Georgas grew up in Aigaleo, Athens with an Asia Minor and Cretan heritage. He attended night school while working Greek Shipyards at Skaramanga and graduated from Anastasiadis School of Electronics. After moving to New York, he continued electrical engineering studies at CUNY and now works in the aircraft industry in Magellan Aerospace New York. Yianni and his wife Stella are long-time volunteers and supporters of Cosmos FM.

Ioanna Giannopoulou

Born in Greece, Ioanna has since brought her Lightfilled spirit to the staff and volunteers at HPR-Cosmos FM 91.5. An experienced businesswoman, radio enthusiast, social activist, events coordinator and fundraiser. Her forte indicates her vitality and exuberance for Hellenic-American cultural values, growth and generational outreach.
